The daytime event at Synth East will feature an exclusive gathering of modular people to participate in an extraordinary adventure. Instigated by the legendary Steve Davis it will pull together a bunch of improvised jams performed live on stage. Through various yet-to-be-decided rules and limitations, names will be drawn, and artists will face each other across the patch cables with the intention of generating the most marvellous sounds and noises. It’s not just randomisation in the patch; it’s randomisation in the participants.
So far, and this is subject to change, we have:
- Steve Davis – The Utopia Strong – https://theutopiastrong.bandcamp.com/
- Robin Vincent – Molten Modular – https://moltenmusictechnology.com/
- Loula Yorke – Sound artist and noise maker – https://loulayorke.com/
- Gaz Williams – Music technology guru – https://www.youtube.com/@gazwilliams
- Sam Battle – Look Mum No Computer synth genius – https://www.lookmumnocomputer.com/
- Andrew Brooks – Modular artist and Superfan
Exactly how it’s all going to work, we don’t really know, but we’ve got some ideas, and we’ll have figured it out by the time we get there.
This is very exciting.
